Initially, Le Blanche Neige was a two storey building that became the first café of the resort. It was under its roof that the name of Valberg was coined : in june 1935, during a meeting at the small café - the onlybuilding apart from the farmer's houses - it wa decided that the locality previously named "Col du Quartier" (pass of the area) would be called Valberg... Further additions were made in 1952 and the hotel looked quite like what it is now. The terrasse was made in August 1955, on the top of the garages with vaulted doors. A first part of it was destroyed a few years later, leaving three vaulted doors out of the five previous ones. From 1960 to 1962, Blanche Neige was the petrol station of the village. The garage was even used as a movie theatre for a time.
